    Yes of course, most of swing shutters of the market can be motorised by Somfy regardless of the material, type and dimensions.

    Somfy motorised systems are compatible with most swing shutters, whether solid or louvred. For each shutter (new or existent) and material (wood, aluminium or PVC), Somfy will find a custom solution that’s right for you!

    Types of curtains you can choose from:

    Here are a few important points to note prior to purchase:
    1. What is the weight of the curtains you are looking to motorise? By design, you can motorise curtains with weight of up to a maximum of 60 kg.
    2. The width and style of your curtains? You can opt to motorise curtains of differing designs (straight or pleated), with up to a maximum width of 12 meters.
    3. The type of opening you wish to have? A central curtain opening, or perhaps one that opens from either side?
    4. From which do you wish to install your curtain? On the left or right?
    5. Is there a nearby power source available? The motors in our electric curtain system will need to be connected to your home's electrical system to operate.

    What type of blinds can be adapted?
    1. Roller blinds. Depending on the fabric selected, they can provide effective shading from the sun's glare or provide total darkness.
    2. Venetian blinds. The adjustable slats allow you to modulate, and allow just the right amount of natural light into your home.
    3. Zebra blinds. Conveniently control the intensity of light into your home. By selecting a custom fabric, you can enjoy the sunshine, or privacy by creating a more intimate atmosphere.
    4. Cellular blinds. They help optimise the temperature of your home due to their efficient insulating properties and ability to capture heat. Other types of blinds do exist on the market, and all types can be motorised through Somfy solutions!

    Here are a few things to note before selecting a motorised system for your home:
    1. Type of installation. Your window size and the weight of your interior blinds will have an impact on the torque exerted by the motorised system. For larger windows and heavier blinds, you’ll have to select an adequate motorised system with the right torque.
    2. Silent motorised systems. To ensure you get the optimal acoustic performance offered by the Sonesse® range, Somfy highly recommends the use of the “Designed for Silence” range of accessories offered by our partners. - Select a smooth fabric. - Take great care while installing the solution.
    3. Nearby power source. A power supply must be readily available near the motor. We recommend all Somfy products to be installed by a certified professional.
